Missy
Level 3 qualified sports massage therapist. Based in Boldmere, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham.
My Story
I'm Missy Gillespie - a Level 3 qualified sports massage therapist based in Boldmere, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham. I've built a strong foundation in the sports and wellness industry, with a focus on swimming coaching, sports injury rehabilitation, and biomechanics.
I began my career as a Level 2 Swimming Coach, developing a deep understanding of movement, technique, and athletic performance. Coaching swimmers of all ages and abilities taught me how to break down complex movement patterns and take a structured, personalised approach to helping people improve.
My passion for human movement led me to work closely with professional cyclists at a specialist cycling company, where I gained hands-on experience in assessing posture, alignment, and injury prevention. This role deepened my understanding of how biomechanics directly influences performance and long-term musculoskeletal health.
I'm currently undertaking a five-year integrated Master's degree in McTimoney Chiropractic at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic in Manchester. This programme is developing my expertise in musculoskeletal health, spinal care, and holistic approaches to treatment and rehabilitation - allowing me to better support clients with both acute and chronic conditions.
My Approach
Alongside my studies, I provide a range of massage treatments tailored to individual needs - sports massage for injury prevention and recovery, deep tissue work to address muscular tension and imbalances, and maintenance massage to support stress reduction and overall well-being.
My treatments are designed not only to relieve pain and tightness but also to improve mobility, enhance circulation, and support optimal function. I take a thorough, assessment-led approach, considering posture, movement patterns, and lifestyle factors to ensure each treatment is both effective and long-lasting.
Every session starts with a consultation and physical assessment. I'll identify the areas that need attention, explain what I'm going to do, and work with you throughout to make sure the pressure and technique are right. Whether working with athletes preparing for competition or individuals seeking relief from everyday aches and stress, I adapt my techniques to suit each client's goals.
Outside the Clinic
When I'm not treating clients or studying, I spend my time travelling and training for triathlons - combining my love of adventure with a strong commitment to personal fitness and endurance. I'm passionate about staying active and enjoy running, cycling, and swimming, both as part of my training and for enjoyment.
I have a Dachshund and a Romanian rescue dog, who I love taking out for walks - it's a big part of my daily routine. I also love travelling the world, experiencing new places, cultures, and challenges whenever I can.
Who I Help
My goal is simple - help you feel better than when you walked in.
